Norfolk CAAT will have a stall and needs volunteers! Do email if you can help.
The general election will be fresh in our minds, and the UK will have hundreds of new MPs. The months following the election are a unique opportunity to build a strong base of support in the new parliament.
See national CAAT for more details.
Despite massive local opposition, and a huge bill to the taxpayer, arms dealers will once again be free to deal in death and destruction.
Actions will be taking place this week.

Once again this week it will highlight the war on Afghanistan about which public opinion is currently in the balance and which, despite having been waged for 7 years, is still without any clear objectives and without having any end in sight.
Norwich Peace Camp is taking place from 9am-4pm and Norfolk CAAT will have a stall, along with many other organisations, inside the Forum.
Norwich Peace Cycle will be taking place as part of a peace and charity awareness event outside the Forum from 11am-3pm.
Members of the public are invited to take part in a unique, day long, combined awareness event devoted to peace, charity and better understanding and by doing so to celebrate the contribution this city can, does and has made to all of these.
DSEi, the world's largest arms fair, is returning to East London on 8-11 September. CAAT's Stop Week on 14-21 June aims to undermine the government support which makes it possible by targeting UK Trade & Investment.
The organisers deny that arms deals take place at 'Defence Systems & Equipment International' (DSEi). But as Magnum Photographer, Martin Parr reported from the IDEX fair: "Buying is a long process and rarely completed in less than a year, but for many arms deals IDEX is the starting line."
Many of the delegations and exhibitors, which in 2007 included India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, and Ukraine, will be there at the invitation of UKTI DSO, which will also provide significant financial, logistical and political support. In short, without UKTI (with whom the fair is run 'in association'), DSEi would be unlikely to happen at all.
On 14-21 June, UKTI DSO staff will be busy at another arms fair: the Paris Airshow. CAAT is calling on our supporters to take action on these dates to:
- Target UKTI with local demonstrations, media work and petitioning
- Fund the fight against the arms trade by planning some fundraising
- Build local links by encouraging others in your area to get involved too!
