O dear, I haven't been very successful in keeping the blog entries going. I have, however, not given up!
I finally got the new shoes....and a water bottle....and a hat. Probably didn't really the extras, but I thought having some accessories might make it easier. I was particularly disappointed when my new running shoes did not improve my performance all by themselves. It seems I actually have to put effort into this venture. They have made my legs ache a little less though. I was actually worse that weekend than at any point before. Although I think that was probably the heat, either way I felt discouraged by having to walk part of both my normal routes which are both really short anyway. The water bottle wasn't as wonderful as I thought either. It's not that comfy to carry, it's not easy to drink from and it doesn't always shut properly.
But I don't just want to complain. I got a book out of the library after that weekend as I thought I needed some advice. Felt better about walking a bit of the route, I will get there eventually. Started to listen to the radio rather than music so I don't try and go too fast.
When I got home on Monday I noticed the lace (from a demo whistle) that I had my door key on has stained my t-shirt pink and blue around the neck where I sweated so I'll always have something to remember this stupid training by!
