''Our tax supports the arms trade''

The following letter was published in the EDP on the 23rd February 2009.

UKTI (UK Trade and Investment) through their Defence & Security Organisation helps manufacturers to promote arms exports. Essentially, it now employs civil servants to help private companies to sell arms.  This is an absolute disgrace. When I read on February 19 that BAE Systems had a pre-tax profit of £2.37bn, I felt another letter coming on.  If you feel as strongly as I do about tax payers funding the peddling of equipment to maim and kill contact The Campaign Against Arms Trade.
